New Christian Year – April

The Lord's Easter marked, in the life of Jesus Christ, the high point of his saving mission. It was the seal of guarantee that God placed on everything that Jesus did and taught: if Christ has not risen, our faith is in vain. And, in Christian life, the celebration of Easter is the centre and the axis of the whole year: it begins with the Easter Vigil, continues for fifty days until Pentecost, and is celebrated every Sunday. The whole month of April is imbued with the Easter Alleluia. And, throughout April, great witnesses of Jesus, the saints, parade by. Among them, Saint Mark, with the most accredited testimony: his gospel. But also, saints such as Francis of Paola, John Baptist de la Salle, Catherine of Siena, Pius V, among the procession of other saints, blesseds, venerables and servants of God who fell asleep in the Lord in this month.
