And it does so in the form of simple exercises to be carried out in one's free time, in which it is perfectly possible to access peace, inner strength, joy and even enlightenment. The book (aimed at all kinds of people, regardless of their spiritual affiliation: religious, non-religious, agnostic, atheist...) is designed, in the words of the author himself, "to make one pass... from sense, fantasy and feeling, to Silence. It must therefore be used as if it were a ladder to access the roof. Once on it, one must make sure that one has left the ladder, or one will not be able to see the sky. When the reader has reached Silence, this book will be his enemy. Then he must get rid of it." But the Silence to which the author refers has nothing esoteric: "The market is as good a place for Silence as the monastery, because Silence is the absence of ego."
