Description
Description
Reinstated as a permanent rank in the Church by the Second Vatican Council, the title of deacon can be conferred on married or single men who are strengthened by the grace of the sacrament of Holy Orders. With the help of their diocesan bishop, they carry out tasks of evangelization, liturgy (administering baptism and marriage and presiding at funerals) and, specifically, work within the social and charitable pastoral ministry. For those who are married, this double sacramentality makes their vocation a ministry - of everyday life - in their family, professional, religious and social life.
