Description
The teachings of the great masters remain intact throughout history; they are transmitted and repeated almost without interpretation, analysis or debate. This implies, in most cases, the risk of turning the masters into gurus of thought. “Their imprint becomes so strong that it is difficult to rethink them, comment on them, much less debate them. For this reason, they end up being repeated ad nauseam, generating the gradual shrinking of their contributions,” says Claudio García Pintos at the beginning of the book. Viktor Frankl warned his students about this, urging them to advance on the elementary premises proposed by himself, assuming them as the foundations, the first steps of something that should be continued, deepened, developed. “In line with his inspiration, this book emerges. The intention has been to bring together some of Frankl’s lectures, both to remember his speech and to commit ourselves to commenting on it. That is, to advance in the current interpretation of his message in our here and now.” To this end, various professionals specializing in the subject were invited to provide their own observations. Each conference is accompanied by the commentator's opinion, not necessarily from admiration for the master, but rather from a critical and current perspective. "This is not a recited Frankl, but a commented Frankl. There are many 'repeated' masters. We hope that this is not the case with Viktor Frankl," concludes the author.
