Description
This book brings together articles and lectures on Christian anthropology by professor and sociologist Pedro Morandé. It reveals the unique contribution that the author has made, over nearly three decades, to Catholic thought and to an interpretation of current culture inspired by Christian anthropology. The book is organized thematically into three parts, each containing texts arranged chronologically. The first part is dedicated to the evangelizing challenges of the post-conciliar Church in the horizon of Latin American culture and the cultural changes brought about by late modernity with the apogee of technology and audiovisual culture. The second part contains some of the author's own anthropological reflections, which are in tune with the teaching of John Paul II and his unique concern for man, whose dignity is manifested in the mystery of the Incarnation of Christ. The third and final part is permeated by a profound critique of the technological culture of postmodernity, where the institutional order and the primacy of functional society constantly threaten human freedom and dignity.
