ABOUT THE AUTHOR Jacques Philippe was born in France in 1947. He graduated in Mathematics and devoted himself for a few years to teaching and scientific research. In 1976 he met the recently founded Community of the Beatitudes, and there he found his true vocation. He moved to Israel for four years, lived in Nazareth and Jerusalem and specialized in Judaism. In 1981 he began his theological and canon law studies in Rome and was ordained a priest in 1985. In Rome he was involved in formation within the Community of the Beatitudes. In 1994 he returned to France as General Councillor of the Community and responsible for formation, and during these years he wrote several books.
