Bernadette

Unlike other saints, Bernadette Soubirous (1844-1879) did not leave many notes or sentences. At the age of 14, when Our Lady appeared to her in 1858, she could neither read nor write. She suffered illness, poverty, the bad reputation of her family, and the deprivation of the Eucharist. Our Lady chose me because I was the most ignorant. All her life she was in the service of others, her humiliations and sufferings were offered for sinners.
