How to read the Gospel of Luke

Luke has a great social concern and pays much attention to people. His preference is always for the poor, the humble and the little ones, and above all for the marginalized, the public sinners and the women who were so absent from social life in the Palestinian world. Luke wants to emphasize that Jesus came for them, to bring them justice and liberation, not for them to simply fit into society and history.
