Dilexit Nos

Today, everything is bought and paid for, and it seems that our very sense of dignity depends on things acquired through the power of money. We are driven only to accumulate, consume, and distract ourselves, trapped in a degrading system that doesn't allow us to look beyond our immediate and petty needs. The love of Christ is outside this perverse mechanism, and only He can free us from this fever where there is no longer room for gratuitous love. He is capable of giving heart to this earth and reinventing love where we think the capacity to love has definitively died.
