Don Bosco, A dream come true

Don Bosco is a man deeply rooted in his people, in his land, in his time. Settled since 1841 in Turin, capital of the Kingdom of Sardinia and epicentre of the movements that led the Italian peninsula to independence and unity, he can only be studied within the complex and dizzying events of the history of his time. It is our desire to get closer to his world, to dialogue with him through these pages. Perhaps all his works can be summed up in a single image: Don Bosco who goes and speaks, who breaks silences and distances, who does not end a day without speaking to God in prayer, and to his people in the very famous “good night” speeches. This book attempts to be a conversation with the Saint, in a familiar and confidential atmosphere, as he himself did, so that each reader can say at the end with joy and confidence: “I have spoken with Don Bosco.”
