Description
There is much talk about his and her grief. The man shows more difficulties in emotional relief. It is more difficult for him to ask for help. He seeks more emotional and physical support, to be pampered, cared for and attended to. The widow, on the other hand, expresses her emotions and relief more freely. She accepts more help, company and expressions of affection. She keeps more in touch with her children, grandchildren and friends. She is more independent and autonomous in all her things. She is more involved in household chores and caring for her family. The book “The Grief of Widowhood” by P. Mateo Bautista, invites us to reflect and work on the grief caused by the death of a loved one, as well as to accept it as something inevitable and absolutely natural. Widowhood is a real impact, which entails several and significant changes in one of the spouses, since a gap has opened with the deprivation of a great sought-after and guarded good, but also a new stage and a new way of living.
