The Man

After examining the question of evil, the gateway to the suggestive and extensive dogmatic entitled God for thought, Professor Gesché invites us to reflect on man. Few tasks have demanded as much energy in contemporary times as that of trying to understand the human being. Its mystery has been sought to be clarified from such different fields as biology, cultural anthropology, psychology, political thought or sociology, without fully achieving the desired objective. This apparent failure has been due in large part to the exclusive horizontal approach that has been used in the resolution of such an arduous enigma. And yet, has it not come time to add to the valuable results achieved by the human sciences the original contribution of theology? Thus, the proposal to change perspective and contemplate the human being from above, that is, from the otherness that the divine you provides, may perhaps serve to break the circle that has man himself trapped within himself.
