Is Chile a Catholic Country? begins with a general overview of current Catholicism, with attention to problems such as the strengthening of pagan morality, the apostasy of the masses, etc., some challenges, such as the evangelization of workers, and other aspects of the Catholic renaissance: conversions and the missionary, liturgical, biblical and Eucharistic movement. It places particular emphasis on the interior life of Catholicism. It also reviews “the miseries of our people,” that is, the social problems of housing, illiteracy, alcoholism, infant mortality and the distancing from the Church that is perceived in the people.
