Description
The figure of Jesus Christ always questions us, since he is not limited to the historical Jesus of historians; the Jesus imagined by faith, the Jesus "in excess" and whom his followers call Christ, also belongs to history. But how can the theological figure of Jesus be made comprehensible in an age dominated by clichés and suspicions? In this sense, the challenge of contemporary Christology is inserted into that of all theology: to make God credible so that he is not simply a divinity, but the One in whom each man hears his own rumor. By proposing a new look at the narrative identity of Jesus, which overcomes the dilemma between historical and dogmatic identity, and by addressing a renewed reading of the accounts of the resurrection and of the titles recognized to Jesus, Christology has a new opportunity today to offer an open discourse on God and on man.
