Liturgy of Communion – Handbook for Extraordinary Ministers of Communion

This pastoral aid aims to help the "extraordinary ministers of communion" to carry out, with dignity, their commitment to the Body of Christ, which is the Eucharist. This manual contains instructions for celebrating the "Liturgy of Communion" in churches, parishes and chapels when the priest or deacon is absent. This pastoral aid also aims to guide the minister's companionship with the sick and elderly who need to receive communion. Along with the approved rites, biblical readings and psalms are added to enrich the celebration and to help in the personal prayer of the sick or elderly, who cannot share in community, but are willing to receive the Lord in the sacrament.
