The motto of the Holy Father Francis comes from the homilies of the Venerable St. Bede, who, commenting on the vocation of St. Matthew, wrote: Jesus saw a publican, and looking at him with a feeling of love and choosing him, he said to him: follow me. This homily is a tribute to divine mercy and has a particular meaning in the life and spiritual journey of the Pope.
