Saint Paul and the Risen Christ

St. Paul is not “a story that has been irrevocably surpassed,” but someone who “wants to speak to us today.” With these words, Benedict XVI inaugurated the Pauline Year in the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls on June 28, 2008, in the two thousandth anniversary of his birth. Through these catecheses, the Pope tells us about the personal experience of Saul of Tarsus’ encounter with Christ. For him, Jesus is a living person, present among his people, the protagonist of the decisive event in the history of the world. Paul’s humanity is rich, but he is a fragile man. His greatness lies in allowing himself to be transfigured by Christ. With this new publication, Ciudad Nueva wants to echo the teachings of Benedict XVI, who, in the Pauline Year, invite us not only to admire the Apostle, but also to imitate him.
